Purpose and Scope<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This Pricing Policy explains how prices, service fees, commissions, taxes, payments, and settlements are calculated, displayed, collected, and distributed on the Monkstays marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays operates as a digital marketplace intermediary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this structure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hosts are the independent suppliers of accommodation, retreats, or related services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monkstays acts solely as a limited payment collection agent on behalf of Hosts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monkstays provides marketplace technology, booking facilitation, and payment processing services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hosts remain responsible for determining and complying with their own tax and regulatory obligations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This Pricing Policy forms an integral part of the Monkstays Terms of Service, Host Terms of Service, and Guest Terms of Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By creating an account, listing accommodations or experiences, or confirming a booking, you agree to the pricing and payment structure described herein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Role of Monkstays as Marketplace Intermediary<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Does not own, operate, manage, or control the accommodations or experiences listed on the platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does not act as the supplier of accommodation or retreat services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collects payments from Guests solely as a limited payment collection agent for Hosts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deducts applicable service fees and commissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Settles Host earnings in accordance with this Policy and the applicable Terms of Service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Accommodation supplied by: <strong>[Host Legal Name]<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Monkstays acts as a limited payment collection agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Display of Prices and Currencies<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.1 Currency Display<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Prices may be displayed in the Guest\u2019s selected currency (and, where enabled, may be auto-selected based on location) for convenience and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.2 Processing Currency<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Payments are processed in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Canadian Dollars (CAD) for properties or events located in Canada;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>United States Dollars (USD) for properties or events located outside Canada, unless otherwise agreed in writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3.3 Exchange Rates<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Displayed currency conversions are indicative only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final charged amounts may vary due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foreign exchange rates;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cross-border payment fees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial institution or card issuer charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays does not control third-party exchange rates or banking fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Guest-Facing Charges<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.1 Booking Subtotal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Booking Subtotal is the base price determined solely by the Host and excludes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicable taxes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guest Service Fee;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any applicable taxes on Platform fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays does not set accommodation prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.2 Guest Service Fee<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless otherwise disclosed at checkout, Monkstays charges a Guest Service Fee of up to ten percent (10%) of the Booking Subtotal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exact amount is displayed at checkout prior to confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This fee supports:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Platform operations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customer support;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment processing;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security infrastructure;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marketplace development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If Monkstays is registered for GST\/HST, QST, VAT, or similar taxes, such taxes may apply to the Guest Service Fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.3 Taxes on Accommodation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicable lodging, sales, consumption, or value-added taxes may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>GST\/HST (Canada)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>QST (Qu\u00e9bec)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provincial Sales Tax (PST)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lodging or occupancy taxes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>State or municipal accommodation taxes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Value Added Tax (VAT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any similar regime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tax applicability depends on the Host\u2019s legal and tax registration status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays may collect accommodation-related taxes on behalf of the Host and transfer such amounts to the Host unless legally required to remit them directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts remain solely responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tax registration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tax classification (including small supplier or exempt status);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remittance to tax authorities. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays do not determine whether accommodation supplied by a Host is taxable. Hosts are solely responsible for determining whether GST, QST, VAT, or similar taxes apply to their accommodation services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.4 Donation-Based Retreats or Programs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Where a retreat or program is described as donation-based:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If payment is mandatory, it may constitute taxable consideration under applicable law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If donation is voluntary and not required for participation, different tax treatment may apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays relies on Host declarations regarding the classification of such payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.5 Total Amount Charged<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The total amount charged to the Guest may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Booking Subtotal;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicable accommodation taxes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guest Service Fee;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taxes on Platform service fees (if applicable).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Payment is collected at booking confirmation through authorised payment providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Host Commission Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5.1 Standard Commission<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Monkstays retains a commission equal to five percent (5%) of the Booking Subtotal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is calculated before taxes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is deducted from Host settlement;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is separate from the Guest Service Fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Where required by law, GST, QST, VAT, or similar taxes may be applied to Monkstays\u2019 commission and invoiced to the Host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5.2 Optional Programs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays may offer optional participation programs, marketing tiers, or protection programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Does not guarantee booking volume or visibility;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>May involve additional fees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is governed by separate terms where applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No program constitutes insurance coverage unless expressly stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Payment Processing and Settlement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.1 Limited Payment Collection Agency<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays collects Guest payments solely as a limited payment collection agent for the Host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collection of funds does not transfer supplier or tax liability to Monkstays unless required by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays does not act as a marketplace facilitator or deemed supplier unless explicitly required by applicable law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.2 Monthly Settlement Cycle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Host earnings are accumulated and settled on or around the 5th calendar day of each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each settlement includes bookings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed during the prior calendar month;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleared at least forty-eight (48) hours after Guest checkout;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not subject to dispute, chargeback, or cancellation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.3 Minimum Payout Threshold<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Settlement occurs only when the Host\u2019s cleared balance equals or exceeds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$100 CAD; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$100 USD (depending on listing currency).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Balances below the threshold carry forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6.4 Grouped or Event-Based Settlements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For retreats, pilgrimages, or time-bound spiritual events, Monkstays may apply a grouped settlement approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In such cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guest payments may be grouped;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Settlement may occur after event completion;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A consolidated payout may be issued once the minimum threshold is reached.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This structure simplifies accounting and does not alter total amounts payable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7. Adjustments, Chargebacks, and Withholding<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays may:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Withhold or deduct amounts related to disputes, refunds, chargebacks, fraud investigations, or regulatory requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offset such amounts against current or future settlements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delay payouts where necessary to mitigate risk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts remain responsible for chargebacks related to their bookings unless otherwise required by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>8. Modification of Fees and Pricing Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays reserves the right to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modify the Guest Service Fee percentage or structure;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modify the Host Commission percentage or structure;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduce new service-related fees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modify settlement timing or payout thresholds;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adjust pricing display formats;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restructure participation tiers or optional programs;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>without requiring prior authorisation from Hosts or Guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the Platform or by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Changes apply only to bookings confirmed after the effective date of the modification and do not affect previously confirmed bookings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monkstays may modify fees or structures where required due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Changes in law or taxation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment processing costs;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fraud prevention measures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operational restructuring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9. International Compliance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts located outside Canada are solely responsible for complying with all local licensing, accommodation, consumer protection, and tax regulations applicable in their jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing in this Policy overrides mandatory statutory obligations in any jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10. Inquiries and Disputes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Any inquiry regarding pricing, commissions, or payouts must be submitted within fourteen (14) days following Guest checkout by contacting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>legal@monkstays.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>11.
